There are several organizations that provide a wealth of information about issues in the cotton, hemp, and paper industries, as well as suggestions and information for sustainable living.

The Center for a New American Dream
The Center for a New American Dream helps Americans consume responsibly to protect the environment, enhance quality of life and promote social justice.

The O'Mama Report
The O’Mama Report is an on-line resource for women who want to make the best possible decisions about organic agriculture and organic products. It is a community in which women share their experience, ideas and inspiration. Content for the site comes from members of the Organic Trade Association, the association for the organic industry in North America.

The Organic Cotton Site
This site is dedicated to all the farmers, manufacturers, activists, retailers and others who are devoting their energies to making organic cotton a viable agricultural and economic alternative.

The Hemp Industries Association
The Hemp Industries Association (HIA) is at the forefront of the drive for fair and equal treatment of Industrial Hemp and the instigation of a level playing field on which to compete with other natural resources and synthetics. The HIA seeks changes in government policies to encourage global production of Hemp as a raw material for industry.

ForestEthics
ForestEthics is dedicated to protecting forests by redirecting US markets towards ecologically sound alternatives.

Conservatree
Conservatree, a project of The Tides Center, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing technical assistance and the most up-to-date, no-nonsense, in-depth, insider information about environmentally sound papers and market development, the kind of information people need to make environmentally sound paper market decisions.

The Paper Campaign
The Paper Campaign is the largest grassroots forest campaign in the US, bringing together activists, students, celebrities, outdoor enthusiasts, religious leaders and concerned citizens. Their goal is to save forests by transforming the way the US market produces paper. Everyday our beautiful and endangered forests are destroyed to make things like copy paper and post-it notes. They are working to end this needless destruction by redirecting markets toward alternatives like recycled and tree-free paper.

Chlorine Free Products Association
The Chlorine Free Products Association is dedicated to implementing advanced technologies, and/or, groups supporting products free of chlorine chemistry. Advances in totally chlorine free (TCF) pulp and paper making, water purification, air conditioning, etc. make it possible to eliminate releases of toxic chlorinated compounds to our air, water, and soil.

Co-op America
Co-op America, a national nonprofit organization founded in 1982, provides the economic strategies, organizing power and practical tools for businesses and individuals to address today's social and environmental problems.
