We carefully select the most
environmentally sustainable papers available. We use the following
three papers exclusively:
Our organic cotton
paper is hand crafted here in New England from organically
grown cotton and flower petals. We believe that it just
makes sense to create our papers right here in the U.S., where we
can guarantee fair labor standards, environmental soundness, and
the highest quality product. And because
they're organic, they're the product of an agricultural system
that strives for a balance with nature by building healthy
soils, eliminating toxic pesticides and fertilizers, and
preserving biodiversity. Organic cotton also offers a way to
make beautiful paper without cutting trees. It's totally chlorine-free (whitened with hydrogen
peroxide). We use this paper for our Organic
Cards.
Our hemp blend
paper combines chlorine-free agricultural resources (10% hemp
and flax straw) with 90% recycled
post-consumer waste fibers. The long fibers of hemp and flax add
strength and integrity to the shorter fibers of recycled
post-consumer waste. This
paper is whitened without chlorine or chlorine derivatives. Our Hemp
Wrap
is printed on this paper.
Our recycled papers and
envelopes are made from 100% post-consumer waste fibers. All of our
papers are 100% processed chlorine-free, so no toxic chlorinated
compounds are released into our air, water, or soil in the paper
making process. Our Cultivated Cards, the inserts to our Organic
Cards, as well as all of our envelopes and packaging labels, are made from this paper.
